The Eagle Stirs Her Nest is a musical drama about a family man, Milo, whose desire for riches and prosperity jeopardizes his family unity. Milo gets what he wants, but at a cost, he did not foresee.
Written by local playwright Jacqueline Hudson Thomas, the Eagles Stirs Her Nest has been performed in many venues, including the National Theater in Washington, D.C., during their Monday Night at the National series, THEARC Theater, and multiple NVCC campuses.
The production has grown over the years. The 2007 production introduced new songs and original music. With the community in mind, GEM Theater Productions engages local artist talent. Actors, musicians, singers, sound technicians, and all other stage crew consist of all age groups. Its award-winning director, Dr. Kelsey E. Collie, is heralded by many in the theater industry as a master of theater arts. As the developer of Howard University's Children's Theater, Dr. Collie joined GEM Theater Production in 2007 as its primary director.
