A Traveling Performing Arts Experience Inspired by Dante's Inferno

Thursday, June 24 – Sunday, June 27, 2021

Tickets are sold via timed entry to ensure social distancing.

Inspired by Dante’s epic poem, in which the Roman poet Virgil leads Dante on a journey through the infamous circles of an afterlife place known as The Inferno. Guests to this event will experience this journey through the eyes of Dante, as they are led through a series of performing arts scenes- bearing witness (and warning) of the destiny for misspent lives.

This is a socially‐distanced walk-through performance experience created by Workhouse Performing Arts and Next Reflex Dance Collective.

This event is made possible through the generous support of our season sponsor:

HRH Foundation

FAQs:

Q: What is the ticket price?

Tickets are priced from $25. (Ticket price may rise with demand.)

Q: What is the schedule?

Inferno will run June 24-27, 2021. Timed entry tickets begin at 8:00pm each night.

Q: What does 'traveling performing arts' mean?

Guests will be led from one scene to the next by a performer. At each location, a scene representing Dante's journey through the Inferno will occur. Scenes may be theatrical, dance or music- or a combination of performing arts. Guests should wear comfortable shoes to walk between scenes. The path is ADA accessible, but will include both pavement and turf surfaces.

Q: How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are being sold in advance online here. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are sold via timed-entry. Please bring a printed copy of your ticket – or have it available to show on a mobile device.

Q: Are you offering group ticket sales?

Yes! Please contact [email protected] to purchase discounted tickets for 10 or more persons.

Q: How does timing work?

All tickets will be sold with a timed-entry. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your selected entry time to check-in and receive further instructions. To reduce crowds, please do not arrive more than 45 minutes early.

Please note the following:

  • Your entry time indicates a 15 minute time-slot when your group will depart
  • The full experience will last approximately 40 minutes
  • Larger groups might not be in same time slot

Q: What happens if there’s bad weather?

If there is a light/mild rain, this event will likely still operate. If there is heavy rain or severe weather, we may not run (or may have partial hours). Please watch our Facebook page or check the Workhouse website for any inclement weather updates.

Q: What is the refund policy?

This fundraising event is following a no-refund policy. If you are unable to attend, you may:

  • Gift your ticket to a friend/neighbor to use
  • Convert the cost of your ticket to a tax-deductible donation

If the Workhouse cancels an evening of the event for any reason, you will be contacted within 48 hours about refund or re-schedule options.

Q: What if I arrive late on the night of my reservation? Can I go through at a later time?

Our team will do our best to accommodate your ticket for a later slot that same night, but cannot guarantee entry if we are sold to capacity or if the timeline is running slower than anticipated. In either case, please check with the reception team when you arrive.

Q: Are restrooms available and campus buildings open?

Most buildings will be closed during this event, however indoor rest rooms will be available in at least one location.

Q: Will there be food and drinks?

Concessions will be available at the reception area on arrival.

Q: Can I walk around campus while I’m waiting?

Once you arrive, we ask that you stay within the reception/arrival area until it is time for your group to dispatch to the performance areas.

Q: Is this appropriate for kids?

While you will know your children best, this experience is best appreciated by older kids and adults. While there is no nudity or adult language, the scenes are an artistic interpretation of Dante's experience through the Inferno.
