The Salvation Army of the Virginia Piedmont served 2,821 individuals in 2018. You can hear the story behind the numbers at our Behind the Red Shield annual banquet. Our keynote speakers are Colonel Michele Matthews, The Salvation Army National Liaison to the White House, and Pastor Erick Kalinga, President of the Culpeper Ministers Association. The event includes dinner and a silent auction.
Our annual banquet provides year-long funds for those in need in our local community of Fauquier, Culpeper and Orange Counties. All monies raised are used within our local community.
Established in 1865, The Salvation Army is ranked as one of the most trusted and enduring institutions in the United States, meeting the spiritual, physical, financial, and social needs of 30 million people every year. We are the nation’s leader in social services, active in every ZIP code in America. Our approach to helping families out of intergenerational poverty comes from knowing what works and dedicating our frontline services to those evidence-based practices.
